一個音節的字，比較級在字尾加上er 最高級加est

多音節的字, 比較級前面要加more, 最高級前面要加the most
| beautiful | more beautiful | the most beautiful |
| important | more important | the most important |
| expensive | more expensive | the most expensive |

短音節、字尾是ｅ的字，比較級直接加r，最高級直接加st。

| nice | nicer | the nicest |
例句: It is actually a bit larger than other rooms.
(4)
短音節、字尾是ｙ的字，比較級去y加ier，最高級去ｙ加iest
| happy | happier | the happiest |
| lucky | luckier | the luckiest |
例句: He is the luckiest man in the world to have you.

重複字尾T 或 G
| fat | fatter | the fattest |
| big | bigger | the biggest |
例句: Sun Moon Lake is the biggest lake in Taiwan.
(6)
不規則

一般來說,比較級和最高級都是當成形容詞用,因為原本的字就是形容詞
但是有幾個例外,想是well (副詞) 的比較級 better 就可以當成副詞使用
例句
They did much better (= were more successful) in the second half of the game.

It is getting + 比較級
It is getting cooler and cooler
It becomes +比較級
EX: It becomes warmer and warmer when spring comes.
She becomes more and more beautiful.
The more/less ..., the more/less...
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
